Membership into D. Russell Parks National Junior Honor Society
**If you were a member of D. Russell Parks NJHS last year, you do not need to show proof.**
In order to retain membership, students must meet D. Russell Parks NJHS standards (demonstrate outstanding performance in all five criteria of the NJHS -- scholarship, service, citizenship, leadership, and character):
*cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 through the end of Quarter 3
*complete at least 12 hours of community service as of April 8, 2022
*citizenship grades of satisfactory or above in all subjects (no N's or U's in any subject)
*no major referrals on file at school
The Faculty Council of the D. Russell Parks Chapter selects students who demonstrate outstanding performance in all five criteria of the NJHS -- scholarship, service, citizenship, leadership, and character. Students must have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.5 through the third quarter during the current school year. Cumulative GPA refers to the total academic performance as demonstrated by the grades received by the student while in attendance at the school where the chapter is found. Students must also maintain citizenship grades of satisfactory or above in all subjects (No N’s or U’s in any subject) and have no major referrals on file. The student must also have completed at least 12 hours of community service as of April 8, 2022.

Community Service
The twelve hours of community service must be earned by April 8, 2022. Please fill out the 2021-2022 NJHS Volunteer Form to submit no later than April 8, 2022 (instructions on how to submit this form will be given at a later time).
Note: Once you make a copy of the form, please change the title of the document from "Copy of 2021-2022 NJHS Volunteer Form" to "Your First & Last Name: 2021-2022 NJHS Volunteer Form"
National Junior Honor Society
Seventh-grade students who earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above, without any N’s or U’s in citizenship and any major referrals on file at school, in quarters 1, 2, and 3, may qualify for a medal at the end of the third quarter, but must also perform 12 hours of community service in their seventh grade year.
Eighth-grade students who earn a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above, without any N’s or U’s in citizenship and any major referrals on file at school, in quarters 1, 2, and 3, may qualify for a medal at the end of the third quarter, but must also perform 12 hours of community service in their eighth grade year.
Gold Honor Cord
Eighth-grade students who earn a 4.0, without any N’s or U’s and any major referrals in each of the quarters 1, 2, 3 and 4 in seventh grade and quarters 1, 2, and 3 in eighth grade will receive a gold cord to wear at the promotion ceremony.
